CREATIVE WEBSITE DESIGN
We don't believe it's inherently necessary to pack every web page with huge amounts of data, flash, and over-the-top eye candy ... in fact, what we like best is white space and a clear message. At the same time, we want our clients' websites to openly show their visitors who they are and what they do. It's important to make sure that the basics are covered ... basic things like navigation. Navigation should always be simple and intuitive. It should be organized specifically to help drive clients' visitors to where they can learn more about the website's product and service offerings. It is all about helping direct those visitors who might consider engaging our clients with business questions and buying decisions. These are the main things we want to share on the topic of website design:
We learn as much as possible about the website's audience!
Intuitive? Maybe. Still, this is too often overlooked. Some very basic questions have to be asked: Who is likely to find the website? What markets will be sought after? Will those markets be NEW to our clients, or, more like returning visitors? To whom is the website going to inherently appeal? Some obvious ones, as examples: an industrial product has a different audience than an upscale financial institution, and the website for a performing arts group has a different audience than a retail storefront. We find out as much as we can about the key buying audience and then brainstorm about what it will take to appeal to those visitors.
We review the competition
We don't negate the fact that our clients have competition, some of which may have a decent online presence. We go to those sites, review the overall look and feel, analyze the brand, and then set out to develop something better. This is difficult, at times, but we have yet to run into what we've felt is "daunting" competition for any of our clients. The websites we've developed are finding great online traffic and pageview success. Gladly, many are stealing business from lesser websites owned by their competitors.
Our Website designers have natural, creative talent
In order to stand out from the crowd, you have to have original, cognitive thought amongst all team members. Our designers are given as much freedom as they need to work out their own conceptual, creative, visions of how our clients might best express their online offering to their public. To this end, sometimes we come up with multiple concepts, and sometimes we try to work out mock representations of these creative ideas. All of our designers are have experience working with us, and our information architecture (user experience) process, so, we work efficiently toward our client's best interests.
