Project Definition

Many clients simply do not know how to budget for a web project, or account for the time required to engage a developer for a project that might meet their requirements.  So, BlueBolt offers 'Project Definition' as a formal service offering that helps to educate our clients, and helps them understand cost and delivery options.  These engagements can come as a separate effort all its own, or as a part of a development project.  Regardless, a full exercise should be segmented into three (3) distinct areas:

  • Project Description - Understand and document the project goals, client competitors, requirements, and stakeholders.
  • User Experience Design - Translate the Project Description into a dynamic website prototype using wireframes, with particular interest on site navigation, mobile web requirements, Admin capabilities, and user controls.
  • Functional Specification - Draft a written detail that provides the development tasks and associated effort to accomplish all which is captured, and approved, in the User Experience Design.

UX Design

Also described above as part of 'Project Definition', BlueBolt considers user experience to be of paramount importance to the successful development of any website or mobile web project.  The visuals provided by creating wireframes, documenting sitemaps, and defining content taxonomies are irreplaceable when helping clients to understand their online options, and we have found them to be the most useful and appreciated tools we offer.

Visual Design - Creative

A first impression is a lasting one, and nothing is more impactful than the creative design for a website or mobile web solution.  In some ways, we find this to be the easiest part of an overall solution, and in other ways, it is the most difficult.  Regardless, there is no substitute for outstanding designer talent, and at BlueBolt, we believe we can deliver, no matter the creative requirements, and no matter the client tastes.

BlueBolt is known in the DNN Community for being able to execute on development of difficult, custom, enterprise-level website and mobile web solution. We believe the most important aspect of development is in the project requirement definition phase, when we provide solid business analysis for client problems to be translated into technical online solutions.

Quality Assurance

No development project can be guaranteed successful without a dedicated effort to solutions testing, and there is no substitute for having an actual process to create testing plans.  BlueBolt prides itself in devising creative Unit Testing exercises, as well as custom user and administrative testing plans.  Eight (8+) years in business as an interactive agency has taught us to provide for ample testing for every solution we develop.

BlueBolt projects don't always end with a ceremonial 'go live' instance, but there is usually a point where client acceptance is officially declared, and where we can migrate the developed solution to the final Hosting residence. It is at this time that we help our client with prepare for maintenance tasks, supplemental training, and subsequent project phases.

Every website solution requires content updates and regular upkeep.  To help our clients with these support needs, BlueBolt offers a comprehensive and efficient maintenance program. Clients on this program can easily add case requests into our 'Client Portal' and witness progress and request usage. BlueBolt specializes in website support and service, and this work makes up 35%+ of BlueBolt overall business.
